About StudentNet
The SAU StudentNet is the residential computer
network service provided to students living at St.
Ambrose University. StudentNet lets you connect your
personal computer directly to SAU's computer network
and, through the University network, to the
Internet. Information Technology supports StudentNet
and all other campus network equipment.
User Information
- 2003/2004 - Approximately 900 students with
roughly 700 network devices
- 2004/2005 - Approximately 1000 students with roughly 900 networked
devices
- 2005/2006 - Approximately 1300
on-campus students with 1500 networked devices
- 2006/2007 - Currently 1470 registered
students with 1804 networked devices

Residence Halls - 38 10/100 Mb switches on a 1Gb fiber backbone
Temporary Housing - 4 LRE (Long Reach Ethernet)
switches
